A local activist and an aspiring young mayor clash over the best path for their impoverished suburb
The original French title of the project was supposed to be "Les Indésirables" before it was changed.. In this second film by the director of LES MISERABLES, shot in 2019, which still features Alexis Manenti and Steve Tchientcheu, but not in the same roles.
Not everyone will agree with the message of this film
Manenti goes from being a policeman to becoming a mayor, and Tchientcheu from a local king also a great member of the city council… This is not a social crime drama, but just a social drama, just remove the crime element. It is just an indictment of real facts, a real tragedy.
The government’s strategy for migrants is at the heart of this story
If you want to escape your problems, if you want to dream, hope for the future, this film is not for you. But if you are brave enough to open your eyes to the real and ugly face of the modern world, modern society, this film is the best chance for you.
A very painful, moving, disturbing ending
