Mentioned in the Korman Productions podcast Deep Dive TV: Earth Abides on MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1 “Alone” with Dave and Stacey (2024). Normally, the first episode would be a decent episode, but not here, which is especially bad considering that it’s a global pandemic that has seemingly wiped out civilization. It’s only been three weeks since he’s been out of the game, judging by what he’s said, but it seems like months or even a year, given how everyone’s talking and acting.

Well, that didn’t last long

It starts with introducing him as some down-to-earth dude who likes to be alone and live away from civilization. Judging by the image on the cover, what are the chances that when he meets her, she’ll be a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man, but he might cling to her like a lost puppy. In fact, I do not understand where the entertainment will come from here, if there is almost no one left and there is no infected threat, as in “28 days later”.

I will not watch to find out!

In this episode, the survivors just complain about being alive. Maybe there will be textbook slave traders (probably bad-looking Christians) who want to establish a new world order, and they will have to run away from them? “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest premieres on television and streaming this month.
